Joyce Meyers' Devotional

The High Cost of Low Living

Satan tempts us to live a low life, but God tempts us to come up higher. One of the worst mistakes we can make is to get complacent, thinking that what we have right now is okay. A mindset of low expectations holds us back because God can only do through us what we believe for.

Be careful not to get in an 'okay place' spiritually. I don't want to be average because I don't serve an average God. God is a God of excellence, and I want to follow His example. And like the scripture above says, we can gain all the world has to offer and end up forfeiting the blessed life He has for us.

Low living has a high cost. Nothing is worth giving up the wonderful, peaceful, joyful, righteous, holy life we can have in Christ here on earth. If you spend your life resisting the will of God and living your way, you're living the low life.

God wants you to be blessed, but He doesn't want you trying to provide it for yourself. He doesn't want you to seek things or put things ahead of Him. Remember that as we seek first God and His kingdom, all of the blessings He has in store for us will come. And that's living the high life!

Prayer Starter: Lord, I don't want to settle for a low life. Help me to keep my focus on You, so that I can live the high life of Your kingdom today.

Where do I begin?

It seems I just can't make the time to sit here and write something of interest! What is wrong with me? There are so many thoughts that run through my mind, but just can't seem to make it on paper. Perhaps I am afraid of what people would think of what I wrote. Like this really stinks and she doesn't know how to compose a story. What is a story? Could I ever learn to write a story? Lord show me how to contruct a story of a life lived with joy or suffering. Give me words that reflect my inner most thoughts.
Lord You are my joy. There are no words to truly express my love for You. Oh, how I wish, that I could sit here and write a symphony of words that would transpose into a melodic sound to reach You in the heavenlies. That it would be a sweet incense to You!
Help me Lord to live a life that pleases You!

Etsy Store is open for Business!

* Whoo-hoo* I listed a few of my items for sale on Etsy. It actually wasn't that difficult to do. Once I got started, it didn't take long to finish. Now I need to take more pictures of my items
that I have been working on. I hope to have time to work in my sewing room Wednesday. I had to clean today. Tomorrow I go to Shepherd Creek Ranch to clean their rock guest house. They are having a retreat this coming weekend. Below is the picture of the rock house. It is so neat to see history!

Then we will be having our weekly meeting to discuss the horse camps in July. It just seems like the days are going by so fast. Before I know it, it will be time for us to head to PA to pick up Jennifer. Now that I am looking forward to. I do hope to have time to find some fabric shops on the way. Need to ask around on Flickr. Well, it is late and have to get up very early to head to Shepherd Creek. Will post more...hopefully on Wednesday! May the Lord bless all who read this blog!

My New Etsy Store

Well now..it seems I am making a change. I am doing away with my Ecrater Store and have opened an Etsy Store. I have not listed any items yet, seeing that Etsy is more structured and needs more details. I am praying that the Lord will guide me through this process, and I know He will because He is faithful. But please continue to pray for me. I hope to have items posted by next week. Thank you and God Bless! ~Anna

Market Days in Blanco

Market Days
Originally uploaded by Sownlove
Wow! What an exciting day! (5-17-08) This was my first time ever selling at Market Days. It was a good turn out for Blanco. We had the "Car Show" going on this day too. So there were a lot of people from all over. They were really excited about the idea of recycling. I told them the bags were great to use at the grocery store..or any store for that matter... I like to take mine to fabric stores...the totes do make for very interesting converstations. I am looking forward to Market Days again in Blanco and hope to branch out to surrounding areas as well. Oh and I do have a display of the recycled totes and recycled juice pouches at our local health food store called "Real Foods". Sherrie is he owner and just loved the idea too about recycling. She was very excited to sell them in her store. Will have to post pics later of that display. Thank you for stopping by to check out my site! God bless you all!
